Serving victims of violent crime and the survivors of victims of homicide
What is
Victims for Justice?
Victims for
Justice (VFJ) is a small, non-profit agency, founded in 1985 by Janice Lienhart
and Sharon Nahorney following the murders of their parents and aunt by a
14-year-old girl and her 18-year-old accomplice. VFJ is a community-based crime
victim service organization that exists to offer services to those whose lives
have been harmed by violent crime. VFJ is a United Way Agency.
What
do we do?
VFJ specializes in serving and advocating for co-victims of homicide victims
(family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors) and victims of other violent
crimes (felony assault, and robbery). VFJ helps victims cope with trauma and
grief, ensures their rights are not ignored within the judicial system,
advocates for change that will make a balanced justice system, and implements
community programs for violence prevention
How
can we help?
VFJ provides a variety of services to those whose lives have been
affected by violent crime. Our services are offered free of charge.
Donations are always appreciated.
